When the winds finally started to die down, we left our little protected spot at Sampson Cay Marina where we had 360 degree protection, and headed South to Big Majors. This is an uninhabited island off of Staniel Cay. Uninhabited with people, but it is home to a family of swimming pigs and some goats as well. It has three beaches, one of which is used by the boaters for evening gatherings around a bonfire.
Although it was still a little windy during the trip, it was very pleasant in the anchorage and the weather improved as the day went on. We enjoyed going over to Staniel Cay to use the internet and have our "fix" of conch fritters and onion rings.

Bad day for this sailboater
One evening the boaters did organize a bonfire on the beach and that was lovely. It is always fun to meet with other boaters and find out where they've been that we haven't yet made it too.
Sunday, we took some of our food scraps over to feed the pigs. When we got there, some folks were there doing some filming for a documentary. We went back later and could get closer to the pigs.

"If I play hide and seek, will you think I'm cute?"
"Should I see a Dentist?"
"Oh Yum"
"So, is that all you brought?"
Goodnight from Staniel Cay
