One of the mega yachts spewed forth a number of its toys, all tethered in a row behind it. It looked like a mother duck with all its ducklings lined up behind it. Every now and then, one would go run amok, but return to its mother subdued.
Mother boat and baby boats
Bob worked on the engine and finally figured out it was a clogged fuel filter and then air that needed to be bled in the line. Hoo Hah!
Tuesday night, Ed and Dee invited us over for a lovely dinner of pork tenderloin. Getting on and off their sailboat is a challenge for Bob and I, but seems to be easy for them, we are so impressed.
Wednesday, we took the dinghy out exploring and found an island with what appeared to be an abandoned weather station. We set up our chairs and enjoyed the view. It was “Tea Table Cay.”

Finally, some dark clouds started to roll in, so we headed back to the boat to get ready for a New Years Eve dinner with Dee and Ed of Sea Fox X. We had purchased a couple of lobsters from a fisherman, plus Bob had two steaks, so we made a dinner of surf and turf. (Bruce, you’ll be happy to know that Bob made Gorgonzolas sauce for the steak!). Ed made dessert – a wonderful pear dessert covered with a sauce made of cream and another of orange juice thickened with corn starch, to which he added Nassau Liquor, and a dusting of dark chocolate, It was scrumptious.

The "creation"
After dinner, we played a game that is popular among the boaters that go to Georgetown, Exumas. It is Mexican Train Dominos. We had just learned to play them from the folks on Diva and had found a place to purchase a set in North Palm Coast. We were treated to a fireworks show coming from Highborne Cay Marina. We toasted midnight with champagne and watched the ball drop. Life is good.
During the evening, the weather got progressively worse, wind and waves increased dramatically. It was one of those nights when I wish the bed had seat belts. Ed and Dee had a rough ride back to their boat, but thankfully it was within a short distance of our boat.
We woke up to a much nicer day weather-wise, and decided to up anchor and move to Normans Cay. Ed and Dee left also, but they are headed to the Exumas Land and Sea Park, which we’ll get to in a few days. We so enjoyed their company for both Christmas and New Years. Weather should be good till next Wednesday, so we can now relax, take our time exploring and enjoying the scenery.
Here's a job you only want to do on a calm day.
We're still looking for the "pot of gold"
