Leaving Nassau

We heard that the winds would die down around noon on Thursday, but Bob decided to go ahead and leave Nassau Harbor Club Marina around 10:30. Well, it seemed that the wind and sea didn’t die down much during the day. Bob took a “wave avoidance route” for a while, which we think helped. Overall, it wasn’t as bad as the crossing from Highborne Cay to Nassau the day before. The only catastrophe was one of our Corelle dishes fell out of the cabinet and broke into a few thousand pieces. Corelle holds up very well, but when they break, there is no gluing them back together. It is about like putting together a 5,000 piece puzzle of a polar bear in a snow storm.

I got these shots of some of the places we passed exiting Nassau Harbor. When you enter and exit the harbour, you have to call and give information about your boat and get permission from the control tower. Luckily there were no cruise ships leaving or entering while we were passing through, so we had an easy passage.
