More fun at Staniel Cay

We have been enjoying our time at Staniel Cay. The weather has been superb and we are enjoying the many cruisers at this location, some old friends, and some new ones.

I finally was in range of a good Internet connection and am able to post all the photos. I hadn't realized how many there are!

We watched the pre-semi final football games on Pirate, our friends from previous years, Jim and Janie's boat. Susan and Ray, on No Agenda, joined us. Jim and Janie have a beautiful parrot that they brought along this year for the first time (instead of leaving it at boarding place for birds). We have all been enjoying Maggie. They had named him Max when they first got him, until after a few years, "he" laid an egg! So now Max is Maggie. We took our "faux" parrot, Polly, over to play with Maggie. I have a great video of Maggie dancing with our mechanical one, but cannot post due to slow Internet connection. You will just have to wait to see that until I can get a good connection - or it comes out on America's Funniest Videos.

Janie and Susan decided to water ski the other day and both did great, considering it had been quite a while since either had done it.

Some of my latest sea glass jewelry - this answers the question of "what do you do on the boat when it's too windy to get off?"

Gerard off Salt Whistle is from New Zealand and provided great music for the evening!

Ten of us went to Sampson Cay Marina for a Pizza lunch to celebrate Arnie's (Exodus) 79th birthday. Janie on Pirate made a wonderful Rum Cake for the dessert birthday cake afterward.

Janie attempting to light the candle on the rum birthday cake in 10 knot winds. It didn't work and Arnie was saved from having to blow it out.

Compass Cay Day Trip

One day a group of us decided to go to see the nurse sharks at Compass Cay. The marina there is run by Tucker Rolle and he will provide hamburgers for lunch if you call ahead.

We rode to Compass on No Agenda's larger dinghy with Ray and Susan.

These two nurse sharks were laying on the bottom touching fins - I think it is love!

You can swim with the sharks and pet them, just not when they are being fed. Tucker considers these sharks his pets.

After lunch, some of walked over to the beautiful beach on the ocean side of Compass.

Watching the games on No Agenda

Ray and Susan hosted a few of us to watch the football games on Sunday. With two large screen TV's, one on the top deck and one in the salon, there was plenty of room for all.

We took time out to watch the sunset and perform the conch horn playing ritual. Janie did great, so did Rita-Kay, and Bob
